In Srinagar spend time at the famed Dal and Nageen lake, take a shikara ride on the serene waters of the Dal lake and stay at a comfortable houseboat on the lake and visit one of the many beautiful flower garden, go on an excursion to the meadows of Pahalgam and the Pine-fringed ski resort of Gulmarg and dont forget to try the Kashmiri wazwan ( a multi course Kashmiri cuisine ).
ITINERARY
Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonmarg (7n / 8d)
Day 1 : Srinagar : On arrival transfer to Houseboat. Day to relax and stay at houseboat. Overnight stay at Nageen lake houseboat.
Day 2 : Srinagar Sightseeing : After breakfast proceed for day tour of world famous Mughal Gardens visiting the Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Adobe of love), Shankaracharya Temple, Pari Mahal ,Hazratbal Shrine. In the evening back to houseboat and shikara ride on the scerene waters of the Nageen Lake. Overnight stay at Nageen Lake houseboat.
Day 3 : Srinagar – Gulmarg : After breakfast and proceed to full day tour of Gulmarg which is one of the most beautiful summer resort in the Kashmir valley. at the distance of 60 kms which will be covered in app. 2 hours. Gulmarg has one of the best ski slopes in the world and highest golf course with 18 holes. Enjoy the splendor of nature and the snowy mountains. One can have Gondola ride (cable car) from Gulmarg to Khalinmarg. Overnight stay at the Gulmarg .
Day 4 : Gulmarg – Srinagar : After Breakfast take some sightseeing of Gulmarg and later proceed to Srinagar and check in the hotel / houseboat . Evening free to explore Srinagar. Overnight at Srinagar.
Day 5 : Srinagar – Sonmarg – Srinagar
After breakfast proceed to full day excursion of Sonmarg which is one of the most beautiful drives from Srinagar. Sonmarg also called Meadows of Gold is located at a height of 2692 meters. You may take a pony ride to Thajiwas Glacier where snow remains round the year. Evening Back to Srinagar and overnight at hotel.
Day 6: Srinagar – Pahalgam : After breakfast drive to Pahalgam (The valley of shepherds) at about 96 kms from Srinagar. On route visit the saffron fields of Pampore , Awantipura Ruins (1100 years old temple of Lord Vishnu ) and drive through the pine forests. Arrive at Pahalgam and spend some time at Lidder stream. Later walk along pony trails with a magnificent view of the mountains. Overnight at Pahalgam.
Day 7 : Pahalgam – Srinagar : After breakfast drive back to Srinagar and evening free to explore Srinagar market and last minute shopping before the departure the next day. Overnight at Srinagar.
Day 8 : Srinagar ( Departure ) : After breakfast proceed to drop at Srinagar airport for your onward flight.
